Summary
This study aims to understand a dangerous virus called Echovirus 11 that can cause severe, sometimes fatal, illness in newborns. Researchers will track the virus in 1,600 babies admitted to intensive care units across Italy to learn how it spreads and what makes some infections so serious. The goal is to gather information to help with future detection and response, not to test a new treatment.
