Risk score tool tested to see if it affects genomic test orders in breast cancer

NCT ID NCT04131933

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looked at whether providing doctors with a free online risk calculator (PREDICT 2.1) changes how often they order a costly genomic test (Oncotype DX) for patients with early-stage breast cancer. About 600 patients took part, and researchers tracked test orders and treatment timing. The goal was to understand how these tools influence real-world decisions, not to test a new treatment.
