Scientists track the silent thief of sight

NCT ID NCT02941263

Summary

This study aimed to better understand how geographic atrophy, an advanced form of age-related macular degeneration, naturally progresses over time. It observed 20 adults aged 55 and older with this condition for nearly four years, tracking changes in their eyes through regular exams and photographs. The goal was to gather detailed information to help design future treatments, as there is currently no cure for this cause of central vision loss.
