First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study compares three different facemasks used with a breathing machine in 20 people whose lungs are not removing carbon dioxide well. The goal is to see which mask helps the diaphragm work less hard and clears carbon dioxide more effectively. Participants will try each mask in a random order, and researchers will measure breathing effort and gas exchange.
