New study aims to validate safer lung monitoring for ventilator patients
NCT ID NCT07175194
First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looks at 30 adults with acute respiratory failure who need a breathing machine. Doctors already use two methods to set the machine's pressure: a lung CT scan (which involves radiation and transport) and a safer, simpler device called electrical impedance tomography (EIT). The study will compare results from both methods to see if EIT can reliably replace CT scans. If so, it could make care safer and easier for patients.
