Surprising discovery: some 'Bad' eye blood vessels may actually be good

NCT ID NCT06125977

Summary

This study is testing a surprising idea: that a specific type of blood vessel growth in the eye might actually help protect vision in people with age-related macular degeneration (AMD), rather than harm it. Researchers are closely watching 73 participants with this specific vessel type to see if the areas near these vessels lose vision more slowly than other areas. The goal is to gather evidence that could change how doctors understand and manage this common cause of vision loss.
