New injection aims to boost platelets in ITP patients
NCT ID NCT06929299
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early-phase trial tests a new drug called STSA-1301, given as an injection under the skin, for people with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) — a condition where the immune system destroys platelets, raising bleeding risk. The study will first check safety in healthy volunteers, then test initial effectiveness in ITP patients. About 56 participants will receive either STSA-1301 or a placebo to see if it can safely raise platelet counts.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
STSA-1301 injection
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new treatment option for people with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) to help raise low platelet counts.
What could go wrong
This is an early phase 1/2 trial with only 56 participants, so it is primarily testing safety. It may not show clear benefit, and side effects are unknown at this stage.
