Heart stent showdown: which one heals better after a heart attack?

NCT ID NCT02890589

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looked at how well two types of heart stents (SYNERGY and a bioresorbable scaffold) heal inside arteries after a heart attack. 22 people who had a heart attack were randomly assigned to get one of the stents. Three months later, doctors used a special camera to see how much of the stent was covered by new tissue. The goal was to learn which stent heals better, not to test a new treatment.
