Could a single drug dose transform stroke recovery?

NCT ID NCT07263776

Summary

This study is testing if adding a one-time dose of the drug tocilizumab to standard emergency surgery to remove a stroke-causing blood clot can help patients recover better. About 700 adults who have just had a major stroke will be randomly assigned to receive either the drug or a placebo along with their surgery. The main goal is to see if patients who get the drug have better functional independence 90 days after their stroke.
