New stroke pill aims to protect the brain and boost recovery
NCT ID NCT06674460
Summary
This study is testing whether a new tablet that dissolves under the tongue can help people recover better after a specific type of stroke caused by damage to small blood vessels in the brain. About 600 participants who recently had this type of stroke will take either the real tablets or a placebo for 24 weeks, followed by monitoring. The main goal is to see if the treatment improves daily function, thinking skills, and prevents another stroke or death over six months.
