New combo treatment could give severe stroke patients a better chance at walking again

Summary
This study looks at whether giving the clot-busting drug tenecteplase before a mechanical clot-removal procedure (thrombectomy) helps people with a large, severe stroke recover better than thrombectomy alone. About 486 adults with a large blockage in a major brain artery will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments. The main goal is to see if more people can walk independently three months after their stroke with the combination approach.
