Hidden stroke subtype gets closer look: do Clot-Busting drugs help?

NCT ID NCT07299994

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study reviews past medical records of 462 people who had a stroke caused by branch atheromatous disease (BAD), a blockage in a small, deep brain artery. Researchers want to see if clot-busting drugs (intravenous thrombolysis) work better than antiplatelet medicines (like aspirin or dual therapy) at preventing worsening symptoms and improving recovery. The goal is to provide clearer treatment guidance for this often-overlooked stroke type.
