Brain stent tested as rescue for failed stroke treatment

NCT ID NCT06472336

Summary

This international trial is for people who have had a severe stroke caused by a large blocked brain artery, and where the standard procedure to remove the clot has failed. It compares two approaches: immediately placing a permanent stent to prop the artery open, or continuing with more attempts using the standard clot-removal tools. The goal is to see which method leads to better recovery and less disability.
