NCT ID NCT06637839

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study compares three different walking training programs for people recovering from a stroke. Twenty participants will be randomly assigned to moderate-intensity walking, high-intensity walking, or high step-count walking during their inpatient rehab. The goal is to see which program best improves balance, walking speed, and endurance.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

locomotor training programs (behavioral intervention)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could identify the best walking therapy to help stroke survivors regain mobility and independence faster.

What could go wrong

This is a very small, early-stage study (20 people) at a single center, so results may not apply to all stroke patients. It compares different exercise intensities, not a new drug or device.
