New drug combo could boost stroke recovery when first treatment falls short
NCT ID NCT07471282
First seen Mar 31, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving a clot-dissolving drug called tenecteplase directly into the brain artery can help people who still have a blocked vessel after a standard mechanical clot removal for a major stroke. About 344 adults who had a stroke within the last 24 hours will be randomly assigned to receive either the drug or a placebo. The goal is to see if more people achieve a good recovery (able to live independently) 90 days later.
