Double-Duty blood thinner combo may stop second strokes

NCT ID NCT06638151

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a second blood-thinning medication (clopidogrel) to standard aspirin treatment better prevents repeat strokes in the critical first 21 days after an initial stroke. Researchers will enroll 200 stroke patients who have received clot-busting treatment and randomly assign them to take either aspirin alone or aspirin plus clopidogrel for three weeks. The main goals are to check if the two-medication approach is safe (not causing excessive bleeding) and practical to implement in real hospital settings.
