Computer alerts aim to stop preventable strokes in heart patients

NCT ID NCT06355986

Summary

This study tests whether a computer alert system can help doctors in community clinics prescribe blood thinners to prevent strokes in high-risk patients with atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat). The system reminds doctors about stroke risk and helps assess bleeding concerns. The trial will involve 2,500 patients across multiple community medical centers.
