New imaging study could sharpen stroke diagnosis
NCT ID NCT04571177
First seen Apr 14, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looks at 20 adults who recently had a stroke to compare two types of brain scans: CT and PET. The goal is to see how well PET scans measure blood flow and brain cell activity compared to standard CT scans. Participants will get both scans within a week of their stroke, and some may have an extra PET scan to check brain energy use. The results may help doctors choose the best imaging for future stroke patients.
