Brain surgery patients help unlock Stroke's hidden damage

NCT ID NCT05847699

Summary

This study aims to understand why some stroke patients don't recover well even after successful clot removal. Researchers will compare special MRI brain scans with actual brain tissue samples from 15 patients who need major surgery after a severe stroke. The goal is to see if tiny, hard-to-detect blood clots in small vessels are causing ongoing damage and could be a future treatment target.
