New drug aims to boost stroke recovery after clot removal

NCT ID NCT07196605

Summary

This study tested whether adding an anti-inflammatory drug called sodium sivelestat to the standard mechanical clot removal procedure could improve recovery for people having a major stroke. It involved 20 patients who had a large blood vessel blockage in the brain. The goal was to see if the drug could reduce brain inflammation after the clot is removed, potentially helping patients regain more function.
