New therapy aims to help stroke survivors regain arm movement

NCT ID NCT04118998

Summary

This study is testing a new type of arm exercise therapy for people who have had a recent stroke. The goal is to help prevent a common problem called 'flexion synergy,' which makes it very hard to reach outward with the affected arm. About 86 participants will receive either the new therapy or a comparison therapy in addition to their regular rehab, and their progress will be followed for one year.
