Hidden arm disuse after stroke: force and precision matter
NCT ID NCT04747587
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looked at why some stroke survivors avoid using their weaker arm, even when they have some movement. Researchers tested how the need for force or precision affects this 'non-use.' 53 participants completed reaching tasks to measure when and why they chose not to use their affected arm. The goal is to help design better rehabilitation exercises.
