Summary
This study tested whether giving a low dose of a clot-busting drug (tPA) directly into the heart artery during emergency angioplasty improves outcomes for people having a major heart attack. The trial involved 210 participants and compared the drug to a placebo. The goal was to see if the drug could reduce damage to the heart muscle and prevent complications like heart failure or death within 30 days.
