Muscle-Building program aims to stop dangerous falls in elderly

NCT ID NCT05691166

Summary

This study is testing whether a year of supervised strength training can help prevent falls in adults aged 80 and older who have age-related muscle loss (sarcopenia). Researchers are comparing the fall rates of 241 participants who either do the strength training program or receive general activity advice. The goal is to see if building muscle strength directly reduces falls and related injuries in this high-risk group.
