Can changing your focus while exercising improve your walk?

NCT ID NCT06538766

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 04, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looks at how focusing your attention differently during calf-strength exercises might change the way you walk. Researchers will compare two types of external focus (like thinking about moving a marker) with an internal focus (thinking about your own muscles) in healthy older adults. The goal is to understand the brain and muscle signals behind these changes, not to treat any disease. About 45 participants will do strength training and treadmill walking tests.
