Scientists test strawberry gummies to fight gum disease

NCT ID NCT01514552

Summary

This early-stage study is testing two types of strawberry gummies to understand how the mouth absorbs their compounds and whether they might benefit oral health. Researchers will enroll 36 adults, both smokers and non-smokers, who will eat the gummies daily for a week while following a special diet. The study will measure inflammation markers in saliva and urine and look at gene activity to see if the gummies have any effect.
