Lupus drug withdrawal trial aims to save eyesight in seniors

Summary
This study tests whether people aged 60 and older with stable lupus can safely stop taking hydroxychloroquine, a drug that can damage the eyes over time. Half of the 330 participants will switch to a placebo, while the other half stays on the drug. Researchers will monitor for lupus flare-ups and eye health over one year to see if stopping is safe.
