First seen Feb 15, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests whether two existing drugs—pentoxifylline with vitamin E, or pravastatin—can prevent or reduce lymphedema and fibrosis (tissue hardening) caused by radiation therapy for head and neck cancer. About 295 adults will receive one of these treatments alongside standard care. The goal is to see if these drugs can safely control these long-term side effects.
