Pre-Surgery stoma practice may ease patient fears

Summary
This study looks at whether letting patients practice with a stoma before their surgery can lower their anxiety and help them adapt better afterward. About 58 adults scheduled for colostomy or ileostomy surgery will take part. Half will get the usual care, and half will also do a stoma simulation before the operation.
