First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study will follow 100 adults who need a stoma (an opening in the belly to pass waste) after bowel surgery. Researchers want to see if patients who get stoma education and marking before surgery have a better quality of life and fewer problems than those who do not. The study compares planned and emergency surgeries to understand the real-world impact of this preparation.
