Light therapy may wake up sleep apnea patients still tired after CPAP
NCT ID NCT06698809
First seen Jan 15, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tests a new light-based treatment called transcranial photobiomodulation (tPBM) for people with obstructive sleep apnea who still feel sleepy during the day even after using their CPAP machine. About 22 adults with moderate to severe sleep apnea will receive tPBM to see if it reduces sleepiness and changes brain blood flow. The goal is to gather early data on whether this approach could help manage residual sleepiness.
