Can a common Anti-Inflammatory drug tame a dangerous pancreas attack?
NCT ID NCT05160506
Summary
This study is testing if a short, 3-day course of intravenous steroids (hydrocortisone) can help patients with severe acute pancreatitis. Researchers believe reducing the body's intense inflammatory response may prevent organ failure, shorten hospital stays, and improve survival. The trial will enroll 86 very ill adults in the ICU and compare the steroid treatment against a placebo.
