Can a short steroid blitz heal troubling MS brain spots?

NCT ID NCT02784210

Summary

This study is testing whether a short, high-dose course of steroids can help heal a specific type of MS brain lesion that may not repair itself well. Researchers will compare 30 adults with MS who either receive 3 days of steroid treatment or no treatment, tracking changes in their brain scans over 25 weeks. The goal is to see if this common treatment can improve healing in lesions that appear as rings on an MRI, even when a person isn't having a relapse.
