Study tests safer ways to wean arthritis patients off steroids

NCT ID NCT07227428

Summary

This study aims to find the safest way to reduce steroid use in people with rheumatoid arthritis who have been taking low doses long-term. Researchers will compare two different tapering methods over six months in 206 patients to see which better maintains disease control while reducing steroid exposure. The goal is to create a standardized approach that helps patients safely stop steroids without worsening their arthritis.
