Could a common EoE treatment stunt Kids' growth?

NCT ID NCT03615950

Summary

This study aimed to understand the long-term safety of a common treatment for eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) in children. Researchers planned to compare bone density and growth rates over one year in children aged 5-12 taking swallowed steroids for EoE against similar children not on this treatment. The goal was to see if this medication, absorbed through the throat, could have side effects similar to other steroid forms. The trial was withdrawn and did not enroll any participants.
