Could 5 radiation sessions be as good as 30 for skin cancer?

NCT ID NCT07337161

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a shorter, more intense type of radiation (stereotactic radiotherapy given in 5 sessions) works as well as the standard longer course (20-30 sessions) for treating skin cancer that has spread to the parotid gland in the head and neck. About 90 adults who have had surgery to remove the cancer will take part. The goal is to see if the shorter treatment controls the cancer just as well with fewer side effects.
