Radiation before chemo: a new immune booster for aggressive breast cancer?
NCT ID NCT03978663
First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving a small dose of targeted radiation to the tumor before standard chemotherapy can prime the immune system to better attack high-risk breast cancer. About 40 adults with locally advanced breast cancer will receive three radiation treatments, then proceed with usual chemotherapy and surgery. The main goal is to see if this approach leads to a complete disappearance of cancer in the removed tissue.
