Heated milk ladder may speed up allergy tolerance in kids

NCT ID NCT06380673

First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether gradually introducing heated cow's milk over 12 months helps children with cow's milk allergy develop full tolerance faster than just avoiding milk. About 90 children aged 1-18 who already tolerate well-cooked milk will either follow a stepwise plan (shorter cooking times or a milk ladder) or stick with only well-cooked milk. The goal is to reduce the time to complete tolerance and lower the risk of severe allergic reactions.
