Breakthrough treatment could save lives from deadly lung failure

Summary
This large Phase 3 trial is testing whether tiny particles released from bone marrow stem cells (called ExoFlo) can help hospitalized patients with severe Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). The study will compare the treatment against a placebo in 970 patients to see if it reduces deaths within 60 days and helps patients spend fewer days on ventilators and in the ICU. The main goal is to find a new treatment option for this life-threatening lung condition.
