Doctors test direct artery delivery of Patient's own stem cells for stubborn bowel disease

NCT ID NCT04312113

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether a patient's own fat-derived stem cells can be safely delivered directly into the arteries supplying the colon to treat ulcerative colitis. It involves 20 adults with moderate-to-severe disease that hasn't improved with at least two standard medications. The main goal is to check for safety issues, while also looking for early signs of reduced bowel inflammation and healing.
