One Man's last hope: experimental stem cells target stroke damage
NCT ID NCT04907188
Summary
This is a special, single-patient treatment program for an 84-year-old man who had a stroke and hasn't improved with standard care. Doctors are testing whether six infusions of his own specially processed stem cells, given about a month apart, are safe and might help his recovery. The goal is to see if these cells can help control the damage from his stroke, as there are currently no approved treatments to fully restore function after a stroke.
