Groundbreaking stem cell trial aims to save tiniest Babies' lungs
NCT ID NCT07368088
Summary
This early-stage study is testing a new stem cell treatment called PNEUMOSTEM® in very premature babies who develop high blood pressure in their lungs soon after birth. Researchers will give a single dose of the cells directly into the windpipe to see if it is safe and if it can help improve heart and lung function. The study will closely monitor 12 infants to check for side effects and see if the treatment helps them need less breathing support and medication.
