Could your own stem cells halt MS? early trial investigates nerve repair

NCT ID NCT04749667

Summary

This study is testing whether injecting a patient's own bone marrow stem cells into the spinal fluid can help repair nerve damage and slow the progression of multiple sclerosis (MS). It involves 18 adults with progressive MS, who will receive either the stem cell treatment or a placebo injection in a carefully controlled, blinded study. The main goal is to see if the treatment improves nerve signaling and is safe, while also checking for changes in disability, brain scans, and quality of life.
