Scientists test 'Living Medicine' to free diabetics from insulin shots

NCT ID NCT07464119

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether insulin-producing cells grown from stem cells in a lab can help people with diabetes. Researchers will transplant these cells into 30 adults who have had diabetes for over 5 years and require insulin. The main goals are to see if the treatment is safe and if it can help patients use less injected insulin and have better long-term blood sugar levels.
