Major myeloma trial: is stem cell transplant still needed in younger patients?

Summary
This study tests whether a combination of three drugs (lenalidomide, bortezomib, and dexamethasone) works as well as or better than high-dose chemotherapy followed by a stem cell transplant for people with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma who are 65 or younger. The goal is to see which approach better delays the cancer from coming back. About 729 participants are enrolled, and the results will help doctors decide the best first treatment for younger patients.
