First seen May 04, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests a stem cell transplant for children with sickle cell disease who have a family donor with a different blood type. The goal is to see if a milder conditioning regimen can safely allow the transplant to work, reducing complications like severe anemia. Up to 12 children will take part, and the approach could make transplants available to more patients.
