NCT ID NCT02838069
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tested whether a single injection of stem cells taken from a patient's own belly fat could help people with mild to moderate knee osteoarthritis that hasn't improved with other treatments. About 100 adults received either a low dose, a high dose, or a placebo injection. Researchers measured pain and function improvements after 6 months, and used MRI scans to check for changes in the knee joint over 1 to 2 years.
