Scientists transplant Lab-Grown heart cells in bid to repair damaged hearts

NCT ID NCT04945018

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether transplanting tiny clusters of lab-grown heart muscle cells (made from stem cells) is safe and might help people with severe heart failure caused by a prior heart attack. Ten participants will receive the cells and then take medications to prevent their immune system from rejecting them. Researchers will monitor safety and check if heart function and symptoms improve over one year.
