Stem cell bone graft aims to heal spinal fusions faster

NCT ID NCT00948532

Summary

This study tested a special bone graft material containing stem cells, called Osteocel Plus, during a specific type of spinal fusion surgery (XLIF). The goal was to see if this material could help the spine bones fuse together solidly and potentially faster than other standard graft materials. Researchers followed 104 patients with severe, long-term back pain for two years after surgery to measure fusion success and pain relief.
