Doctors get nudged to prescribe more cholesterol meds
NCT ID NCT05537064
Summary
This study is testing two simple methods to help primary care doctors refer more eligible patients to centralized pharmacy services for starting or adjusting cholesterol-lowering statin medications. It involves nearly 2,000 patients who are at high risk for heart disease but are not currently on the recommended statin therapy. The goal is to see if gentle reminders or 'nudges' given to doctors during or outside of patient visits can increase the number of people who get the right medication.
